 Lego Therapy.... what is it and ho
 w does it work?
 Lego Therapy is a social development programme for child
 ren with autism (developed by Dan LeGoff &ndash\; 2004\, Philadelphia\, re
 searched and recommended by Simon Baron Cohen &amp\; Gina Gomez). It is on
 e of the very few approaches where research has proven significant improve
 ments in Social Competence at the end of the intervention as well as at la
 ter follow up. It is a collaborative play therapy where participants take 
 different roles to create a joint model and\, although originally develope
 d to support children and young people diagnosed with autism\, it is relev
 ant to many others requiring social skills development work. 
 
 This wo
 rkshop aims to introduce delegates to the principals of Lego Therapy\, exp
 lore why it particularly appeals to children and young people diagnosed wi
 th autism and discuss how it might be implemented within a setting. There 
 will also be an opportunity to 'have a go!
