BM2211P The Bar Model Method for KS2

bar model ks2

"The bar model method is a strategy used by children to visualise mathematical concepts and solve problems. The method is a way to represent a situation in a word problem, usually using rectangles."

The session will explore bar modelling as one of the heuristics to teaching and learning mathematics.

We will explore how the bar model method is used to develop pupils' understanding of mathematical concepts.

We will consider the bar modelling method as a valuable problem solving tool and how model drawing provides and importation transition from the CPA concept.

This is an interactive session where participants will be doing the maths, which will be inspiring, enjoyable, stimulating and thought providing - those tricky SATS questions suddenly become really easy!
