SR1601 Safer Recruitment

It is a legal requirement that governing boards of both maintained schools and academy trusts carry out their functions with a view to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Boards must also have regard to statutory guidance when considering what arrangements they need to make for this purpose. School Staffing (England) Regulations 2009 require all governing bodies  of maintained schools to ensure at least one person on any appointment panel has undertaken safer recruitment training.
