AA1909 Anaphylaxis Awareness and Safe use of Auto-Injector5 Wells Development Centre @ Redwell Primary In an emergency - and in accordance with the information given in both the DfEs guidance and in JSP 342 - an adrenaline injection such as an EpiPen can be administered for anaphylaxis by suitably trained staff.

DSL2009 Designated Safeguarding Lead5 Wells Development Centre @ Redwell Primary Designated Safeguarding Lead Course This is an advanced course for those senior members of school staff who wish to undertake the role of DSL. The role of DSL is crucial to the safeguarding and welfare of children. This course aims to equip delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake this demanding role. Course content includes;
The course will use case studies and examples of safeguarding work. Delegates should be familiar with current relevant legislation and the Keeping Children Safe in Education document. These will be referred to throughout the course.

SGG2009 Safeguarding for Governors5 Wells Development Centre @ Redwell Primary Postponed until later in the yearSafeguarding: the Governors' roleThe session is designed to provide governors with assigned safeguarding responsibilities with the knowledge and skills to undertake their role. The session will explain the legal context for safeguarding in schools and through discussion and activities will help delegates to develop their awareness of whole school safeguarding issues and the responsibilities of governing boards in relation to safeguarding. The workshop will provide a role description for safeguarding lead governors, and tools to enable them to undertake their compliance and monitoring roles. The session is interactive and uses real case scenarios to develop understanding.

DSLR2209 DSL Refresher Course5 Wells Development Centre @ Redwell Primary Designated Safeguarding Lead Refresher Course A course designed for existing DSLs that will meet existing requirements for professional development in this area and to provide delegates with an opportunity to network with practitioners and to share best practice. The course recognises the experience and knowledge of current DSLs and aims to build on that knowledge and to support DSLs in their role. The course is interactive and a number of case studies will be provided to explore learning and to develop practice. The course is of half a day’s duration. All materials are provided.
